Sweden's other beloved bun: soft cardamom dough twisted around cardamom sugar, fragrant and not too sweet.
The whole recipe in 60 seconds
Cardamom Buns, in 5 ideas
- Freshly ground cardamom from green pods is dramatically more fragrant than pre-ground
- The knot shape is traditional but simple twists work too
- These are less sweet than cinnamon buns; that is the point
- Serve with coffee for fika, the Swedish coffee break ritual
- They stale quickly, so eat the same day or freeze
